A Success Story with No Ending – Just a Beginning

“Anxiety…depression…what’s happening to me? How do I control this feeling of up and down? What can I do to feel more normal? Why is this only happening to me?” This is where my life was until I met Anu Malhotra. Anu introduced me to a new style of breathing called PRANAYAMA. I had tried yoga and tai chi in the past but had never heard of this new technique. I was told by Anu that this “new technique” had been around for over 5,000 years. I was a beginner and at first started out practicing the technique very slowly. It is a simple technique; however, it required me to sit quietly in a yogic position. The discipline demanded a lot of patience which I frankly did not possess at this stage of my life. As I continued to meet and work with Anu three times each week, she shared her invaluable knowledge with me concerning the practice of PRANAYAMA breathing and all of the benefits of this yogic ritual. In addition to sharing her wealth of knowledge, Anu also had me practice the breathing technique and yoga stretches with her. I found this to be extremely invaluable as it helped me to establish my own discipline. Filling out my printed form daily helped me to discipline myself to do PRANAYMA breathing on a regular basis. To get the best results one must do a session both in the morning and evening. As I looked at my checkmarks on the practice sheet, I also was noticing a marked improvement in my daily lifestyle. I now am able to “just be” and to be more “in tune” with my calm self. I feel more like a human being. The two cousins anxiety and depression have left me, and, in turn, I find each day a true blessing. My life has truly been enriched by my daily practice of PRANAYAMA breathing. It is comforting for me to know that this is not the end of a success story but just the beginning of a beautiful journey. THANK YOU, ANU!
